I made the mistake of buying the miniatures the first time, also. They are a bit larger in size so you will have to adjust your box measurements so they fit inside. I stacked two together to use...

I've used sugar for snow but it was contained...

I've used sugar for snow but it was contained behind an acetate window for a shaker card. It worked very well. I have the card in my gallery if you wanna look. Have fun!! :p
