Default What is the best way to browse thru the gallery?

I LOVE going to the gallery, and I could literally spend all day there browsing!! There is SO much to see!! But sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed.
How do YOU browse the gallery? Do you go through the member galleries? Do you just browse by the stamp set? What is the quickest way to see the most samples?
I have already cased my Christmas card from a set I saw using Sparkling Season (I already have it. Figured I might as well not spend $ on another set when I've never used this one!) and I want to case more. I just want to use my time wisely.
Thanks!

I click on my newest sets (right now Bubble Queen, Do the Hula, Island wheel, and Godspeed), check out if there's any new cards made with them. Then I click on 1 day and start from the beginning till I get to cards I saw the day before. Doesn't take too long. If I like a card made with a set I don't know too well, I might click on that set to see more cards made with it.

"In the beginning".... I started out clicking on sets I had to get ideas for those; now, I start out in todays gallery, but as soon as I start commenting on one, it re-directs me to that set so I either look at a few there or hit "back" a couple of times to get back to todays gallery; sometimes, if a card made with a new set catches my eye, I then look at every card made with that set before going back to todays gallery; when I start to get overloaded, then it's time to go to the forums for a while, see what's happening & to check out the challenges!

Use Firefox! It has a tab option that is AWESOME for browsing the gallery. I just right click and open in new tab. I do this for a bunch of cards and then let them open in there own little tabs and then I can go back and look and comment when I want. No waiting for each and every page to load! DH told me that there is a plug-in for IE that does this too, but I know nothing about it.

I started by gathering ideas from the sets I already owned or was planning to purchase. Now I just hit the 1 day or 7 day buttons (depending on how long I've been away). If I want to make a card with a specific set, I check out that gallery HTH

I always look by set. I get a little overwhelmed looking at a jillion sets at one time - I also like to comment on some older uploads, I'm always amazed when something has over 100 views and no one took the time to make a comment. I think some beauties get missed when a bunch get loaded at the same time.

Is there anyway to look up a specific theme on the gallery such as birthday cards or Christmas regardless of what set it is made from.

Love to use Firefox for this. It makes it so easy to view a lot of cards quickly.

This is interesting, because I thought everyone looked at the Gallery my way, and no one here has mentioned "my way"! I go to Gallery, then just click on "1 Day", so I see all the cards uploaded in the last 24 hours. I do this several times a day. <g> I look at them until I get to ones I've seen. I also copy and paste the card picture and the recipe (separately) and paste them into an email to myself. When I get a ton, I print the email, then send it to myself. I have hundreds of pages of samples printed off to refer to in my stamping room (don't have a computer in there yet).

I also look by stamp set - esp when I'm trying to decide which new one(s) to buy, or when I get a new one. And when I'm wow'd by a particular SCS gal, then I might look at her Member Gallery.

Kara,

If you type in Christmas, it will bring up cards that people used the word Christmas in their description, picture name or in the keywords. The same with Birthday. I bet you will get quite a few if you do it that way.

I just did a search entitled Christmas and came up with over 5,000 samples.

I try to get on late in the evening and then check the 1 day postings. If I miss a few days, then I go on the 7 day. When I get a new set, then I go to check under the specific sets listing. I comment and save to favorites as I go. One thing that I have found is that after I submit a comment, if I quickly hit the back arrow twice it takes me back to the gallery page that I was on.

Red face Firefox

Firefox is a browser, just like "internet explorer" or "netscape navigator" is a browser. There is also another one called "opera", and I imagine there are more as well. I use IE, but when I was having trouble with my home computer, our computer tech at work recommended firefox to me. It is a matter of preference, and I think most people use IE, but there are others out there.
Hope this helps.

How quickly do you hit the back button? I get tired of waiting for a comment on a card to post, but I am afraid that if I hit back too quickly, it won't post at all. I tried a suggestion I found on here to open a thumbnail in a different window, but I still feel like I need to wait if I want it to post. Maybe I'm being stupid.

I just wanted to let people know that you can download Firefox for free. I did a google search on firefox and found many sites that will allow you to download for free. The official site is www.GetFirefox.com
I can see why people are raving about it. Seems quicker than Internet Explorer. I love how you can right click on cards that you want to see details and/or leave a post and firefox will create a "tab" or new window for each card. The new tabs are up toward the top of the page. I missed them when I was first playing with it. Then you can just click through all the various tabs. Much easier than hitting the back key, etc that you need to do with Internet Explorer.
Thanks to everyone who suggested it. I will probably spend more time in the gallery - if that is possible!!
