Teabag folding is a modular origami. This site has some good instructions:
http://www.geocities.com/[email protected]/folds.html

You don't need to use real tea bag papers or special paper. I have done several with ordinary gift wrap and they were beautiful

I'm thinking that the ones you have seen are probably Iris folding which is different than teabag folding. Here is one site I found with directions

Could be. Here is another site for Iris Folding. At the bottom of the page are links for various shaped folding patterns -- triangle, hexagon, pentagon. I especially like the patterns here because they have several sizes per page. I don't have to resize, just pick the one that fits my card.

Smile or Teabag Folding.......

I just found a better website than what I have seen before. The page (at Circle of Crafters) has a step-by-step instructions starting with of Lesson #1 -Make a basic kite fold; Lesson #2 Make an 8 piece medallion; and other projects.
Golly Gee Whiz, I may have to try this teabag thing myself!!
Have Fun!
