Unfortunately, I have to agree with everyone else...those little sewing machines are a piece of junk. I have handed mine over to my 13 yr old and she plays aroud with it (without much success either...

To eliminate the lines on the canvas stamp, try applying your ink with the rubber brayer. Works like a gem. I've done it "line-free" many times.

I use a pencil eraser on the stamp and lightly "erase" the skin that Jan mentioned in her message. I've tried the sand paper but was always nervous about rubbing too hard. The pencil eraser works...
