Default Paint Cans

HELP! I'm making a decorated paint can for my step daughter's ex-boyfriends' brother....long story....he cut his fingers off at work this week!!!

Anyways...what do you recommend to attach the paper to the can? I'm using rubber cement, but don't know if I should be using Sticky Strip instead??? Any recommendations?

Oh, by the way, I baked a double batch of xmas cut-out cookies and got them all frosted only to come home to half missing....the dog pushed the chair out and got on the table and ate them!!!! I have another double batch of dough in the fridge...now I have to start all over!!! All this after the line for Santa was 1 1/2 hours!!! We ate at the mall and then went to find out they are handing out pagers instead of having to wait in line. Would have been really good to know before we ate??? I'm done complaining now....and in my basement relaxing with my rubber!

Thanks

I've used both Mono Adhesive, and a generic double sided tape. Both worked well. But I know that other adhesives have been mentioned. Good luck!

Default Adhesisve for paint cans

I have mad a millions of these and I use terrifically tacky tape. I get it with my 40% coupon off from Michaels. Nothing has fallen off and they have been made for over two months now. Carol

I used the spray adhesive from elmers. If you put it on right after spraying it is supposed to be permanent. If you let it dry first, it is repositionable. I have not made too many; but, so far this worked really well and it was fast!

I, too, have used the Scotch double sided tape with much success. I just did one tonight using the sticky strip and so far it's working like a gem.

Sounds like you have lots of options. Good luck with that second batch of cookies!

I had trouble with cardstock popping off with regular scotch double stick. Any red-liner works well (Terrifically Tacky Tape, Sticky Strip, O So Sticky from queenpennywise, etx.) Also E-6000 works great.

Be sure to post a picture if possible when you're done!

Tacky tape is the only thing I have been able to keep it together!

Thanks to everyone for the great advice!

The can is done - I started with rubber cement - then went to the sticky strip - ran out of that and ended with double sided tape. We'll see what it looks like in the AM!

The double sided tape let loose on one of the cans. Have to run to Hobby Lobby for the sticky strip! Shoot!!!!
