Now, Vintage already scares me because when I do vintage, it just looks dirty, and unintentionally! Steampunk felt even harder!
Someone told us that Steampunk could be defined as Romance meeting Industrial art. I kept thinking that if I'd had the Well Worn Papers, as well as some of the vintage bling from the catalog, I could probably knock this out of the park!
But I didn't. So I started looking through my stash to see if I could make romance meet metal!
This page uses my Beau Chateau dsp (Yes, I finally cut into it JUST for this!!) Pair up the pretty new Lace punch and crochet trim with that, and you have definite romance!!
For my "metal" parts, I embossed some Delicate Doiles and Clearly For You medallions on our Brushed Silver cardstock in the new Pewter. I really, really like the pewter on silver!
I used the Big Shot Top Note and Duo Scallop Squares for the photo mats.
The greeting says "You are such a blessing in my life," from the new Blessings From Heaven word set.
I know my interpretation is more literal than using it as a springboard, but I was happy with how it turned out.
Anyone else out there wtih me, scared to try steampunk? I hope you'll take this challenge and see what you can come up with!!
