I didn't see the advice about the foam, but I did figure out that if I folded a paper towel and put it under the gridded piece, it "gave" enough to avoid most of the ink in the grooves.

Great idea and tutorial. I have one question, though. It says to score at 11, 6 and 4 inches, but if the CS is only 11 inches long, how could you score it at 11? Should it be 10?
