When I accidentally bumped the stamp and smudged the focal image for this card, my mind said, "Oh crap! No, wait. I think this will work for shabby chic." So I distressed the edges of the focal panel's mat, and added some olive sponging, and I guess I succeeded in the shabby chic look. What do you think?
I tried to get shabby with some flowers created out of old book pages and some distressed edges... does that count? Blue Flower Script

This is the first time I've played the CAS challenge. CAS is almost my style, but shabby chic is not. This was a perplexing challenge and I tried... so here is my card. TFL!
I don't do shabby well, so this was a real stretch for me. I also took the opportunity to use the Paper Crafts Go-To Sketch Challenge #3 for my CAS67 card.
I admit it. Even though I'm new to these challenges, I am HOOKED. Here is my attempt at Shabby Chic. Not quite what I had envision, but practice makes perfect!
Definitely pushed me outside of my comfort zone, which is the hallmark of a great challenge. I did find out that your paper and ink choices do a lot of the work for you. Here are my first two attempts at shabby chic:
Ugh, finally! Although I must say that as hard as I tried to keep things simple, I just can't pull out a true shabby CAS... anywhoo, here's mine: Sweet Baby

Good challenge for me as I don't do "shabby chic" or "distressed" very well. After a couple of attempts, I came up with this card, which also works for WT270 (Ways to Use It challenge to use an edge distressor):
