I trim magnetic vent covers to fit CD cases to store my nesting dies. I'm afraid that they will get bent without the magnet -- nesties cost too much to risk it.

If the dishwasher doesn't get rid of the smell, trying rinsing or soaking them with vinegar. Vinegar gets rid of everything, and the vinegary smell doesn't linger long. HTH!
