This journal page is for Robin's terrific Free for All challenge, where YOU get to decide what National Day to celebrate.
I don't think tutu's and ballerina dresses were common dress-ups when I was a child, however I do know I spent many years wearing my Annie Oakley skirt, my Florence Nightingdale cape and my treasured Mickey Mouse ears - looking back I've always been a little weirdo. With two brothers and living in a country town, it's no wonder I was born a tomboy LOL.
Maybe those formative rough and tumble years are the reason why I chose this National day to celebrate, it is completely opposite to my childhood.
I love the elegance and grace of a ballerina and let's face it, who wouldn't love to put on a tutu or a flowing ballerina dress for a minute or two. Having said that, how cool would it be to go back in time and wear your Annie Oakley skirt, your cape and mouse ears just one more time.
Okie dokie, about this journal page. This is a single digi image by Mo's Digital Pencil. To print the group of dancers, I copied the original sized image and then pasted it 5 times. I reduced the image to 50% for the little ballerina and I enlarged the image to about 200% for the big girl (and I cut her legs off), I also stuck her on the page at a slightly different angle.
All of the images are just done on photo copy paper, coloured with Prismacolour pencils, blended with Zest-It and highlighted with a Copic marker, then fussy cut. The big girls body is also copy paper, but her skirt is card stock, coloured with Gelato's, Crayons and a swish of an Ecoline water marker - spritzed with water, then shaped to suit the journal page. All of the images were adhered to the black cardstock using a glue stick, making sure that the entire image is covered with the glue stick, this prevents air bubbles.
Thank you for looking and I hope you get some crafty alone time so that you can join in. I can't wait to see what your National Day is.

Susie - this is amazing! Wow, so many things to like - the repetition of the dancers, the variety of techniques used, the color against the black bg - so creative and lovely!! Faved!
And I want to thank you for all your kind comments on my cards lately - they meant a lot to me, and brightened my spirits in a super busy week for me! And the one about the card making olympics made me laugh out loud!! (My DH laughed too)! THANKS SO MUCH!

OH MY GOOD GOLLY GOSH AROONI, Susie, this is stunning!! Robin's right, you are a genius and a marvelous artist. I love the repeated dancers and your addition of the skirt for the full size dancer is perfect. The black bg lets these gorgeous dancers put on a full show. Wowzers, I think you hit a new high my friend!!

Please pick my jaw up!!! This is absolutely stunning, Susie!! Your creativity is remarkable! I love how you copy and adjust one image to get multiples. You truly are a talented artist!! I do have one concern though. I'm feeling sorry for the big girl and I don't know how she is dancing with no legs!! Can you explain!! Hugs, my friend!
P.S. Would you stop making so many outstanding cards? I have so little room in my favorites gallery!!

Amazing creation, Susie. My mind is just spinning trying to tske it all in. Pure genius to resize and repeat the ballerina. That lovely shade of teal is so pretty against the black. Spectacular!

Another amazing card Susie and I agree with all the previous comments...you are a genius. I would love a national ballerina day, although I do recognise it sometimes with our little poppet GD and wear a tutu with her LOL. Happy dancing and weekend...the sun is shining again here..yay. Hugs

Wow, Susie! It's as if she was practicing hard at her exercises with a dream of the future to keep her motivated. You do such fabulous work with gelatos, her dress is amazing. My favourite dressing-up was a little clown costume, I think I only ever wore a tutu during the VERY brief period I did ballet.
