This journal page is for Robin's terrific Free for All challenge, where YOU get to decide what National Day to celebrate.
I don't think tutu's and ballerina dresses were common dress-ups when I was a child, however I do know I spent many years wearing my Annie Oakley skirt, my Florence Nightingdale cape and my treasured Mickey Mouse ears - looking back I've always been a little weirdo. With two brothers and living in a country town, it's no wonder I was born a tomboy LOL.
Maybe those formative rough and tumble years are the reason why I chose this National day to celebrate, it is completely opposite to my childhood.
I love the elegance and grace of a ballerina and let's face it, who wouldn't love to put on a tutu or a flowing ballerina dress for a minute or two. Having said that, how cool would it be to go back in time and wear your Annie Oakley skirt, your cape and mouse ears just one more time.
Okie dokie, about this journal page. This is a single digi image by Mo's Digital Pencil. To print the group of dancers, I copied the original sized image and then pasted it 5 times. I reduced the image to 50% for the little ballerina and I enlarged the image to about 200% for the big girl (and I cut her legs off), I also stuck her on the page at a slightly different angle.
All of the images are just done on photo copy paper, coloured with Prismacolour pencils, blended with Zest-It and highlighted with a Copic marker, then fussy cut. The big girls body is also copy paper, but her skirt is card stock, coloured with Gelato's, Crayons and a swish of an Ecoline water marker - spritzed with water, then shaped to suit the journal page. All of the images were adhered to the black cardstock using a glue stick, making sure that the entire image is covered with the glue stick, this prevents air bubbles.
Thank you for looking and I hope you get some crafty alone time so that you can join in. I can't wait to see what your National Day is.

Oh Miss Susie I am not sure how you could come up with a more beautiful card for your own personal favorite. When I initially saw this in the gallery I was blown away and coming back I knew why you chose this card because it is absolutely incredible. Thank you for sharing your personal favorite with us.

I can't believe I haven't left a comment on this gorgeous creation until now - I've admired it several times in the gallery! I never cease to be amazed at what you do with digis, and this is no exception! Beautifully executed, and I especially love the colors. (I'm still a weirdo, by the way - go, all of us oddballs!)
