This is for Lisa's lovely WT challenge - Hans Christian Anderson. The Ugly Duckling was one of my favourite stories and is the inspiration for my card.
I started with a piece of masking paper the same size as the panel, then using a blade, cut out the moon shape. The negative and positive masks are both used.
The background was made by masking the moon area then dunking the cardstock into a puddle of Dylusions Ink Spray and Ironing Spray Starch.
I placed the top half of the card in a more concentrated part of the puddle and rubbed my hand over that section.
Once the base was dry, I removed the moon mask then put the background mask in place leaving the moon exposed and ready for distress ink.
Smack & Squirt technique for the moon - smack distress ink pad onto al foil then squirt on some water and scrub on the inky water.
The ducks were stamped a gazillion times thanks to MISTI and Memento Luxe ink. I finished with a bit of dot and tree stamping.
Thank you for looking.

I always love your amazing BGs you create. I like you love the Ugly Duckling story and you have done an amazing job putting it to this card. The bright moon is fantastic to really showcase your ducklings. I love being able to stamp again and again on my Misti too, it fixes those silhouette images for us perfectly. Thank you Sweet Miss Susie for helping inspire my card for today's challenge and thank you for all the smiles with the wonderful stories you give us here on SCS, you brighten so many with your wonderful cards and stories. Hugs Sweet Friend!!!

Your cards have so much character and to top that off, you are the queen of mixed media! Your brilliant ideas are all original. Love the use of the spray starch creating these magical background. What a wonderful way to mask too. Love the effects of your ink potions too! This is fabulous, Susie, particularly finishing it off with your signature doodles.
