This is for Lisa's lovely WT challenge - Hans Christian Anderson. The Ugly Duckling was one of my favourite stories and is the inspiration for my card.
I started with a piece of masking paper the same size as the panel, then using a blade, cut out the moon shape. The negative and positive masks are both used.
The background was made by masking the moon area then dunking the cardstock into a puddle of Dylusions Ink Spray and Ironing Spray Starch.
I placed the top half of the card in a more concentrated part of the puddle and rubbed my hand over that section.
Once the base was dry, I removed the moon mask then put the background mask in place leaving the moon exposed and ready for distress ink.
Smack & Squirt technique for the moon - smack distress ink pad onto al foil then squirt on some water and scrub on the inky water.
The ducks were stamped a gazillion times thanks to MISTI and Memento Luxe ink. I finished with a bit of dot and tree stamping.
Thank you for looking.

Susie this is wonderful. What did we do without our Misti for stamping up nice black images. I will have to look into this Momento Luxe ink as I always have problems finding a nice black ink. Your little ducks are so nicely silhouetted against that rising moon. Hope one of them is looking out for the foxy loxy.

Oh, sis, what an amazing card, and I LOVE the background! I giggle when I think about how you are in your "zone" squirting, smooshing, and swiping all sorts of media! But in the end, the results are gorgeous, and I love The Ugly Duckling tale. What a perfect card for it! Beautifully done, sweet sis! Hugs and love! xoxo

I just love your black and white bgs Susie. The bright orange is such a terrific contrast. How perfect it's that die cut...they look like they are waddling back to the pond to sleep.
