I don't use the "self-healing mat" that you could get with the CM cutters. I use a glass mat, and let me tell you, it makes a huge difference! It glides smoothly and makes sharper cuts, IMHO.

For the plastic wrap method, I heard you can't use Glad wrap. It is "microwave safe" and doesn't melt properly to bond. Try regular Saran wrap, just look to see that's it not microwave safe.

Here's a tip that helped me, I ran my sparkly cardstock through my Xyron first, then cut out the frames...makes it so much easier...
