We have stayed at The Sylvia Beach Hotel several times over the years, as it is just a couple of hours away. In honor of Susan's marvelous Teapot challenge, and Jules Verne, my DH just started the novel, "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea". Published in book form in 1870, it's now being listened to in audio book form. How's that for relating to the embossed quote? Though I wish this were a stamp, the diving bell figure was cut from a Dover book, scanned and backed with a black shadow. I used Wink of Stella and a Glaze pen for brass and glass highlights. I chose two of my favorite Mixed Media experimental papers as the backdrops and attached with round, decorative paperclips. Also MM is the glittered heart. My "sea creature" is wool roving. A few nautical looking eyelets topped off the piece. After completing, I realized that sub-conscience art therapy played a role here as well. Said DH, was injured last month (hence my MIA from SCS) & is wearing a neck brace. Like my focal point character, he cannot move his head freely and is temporarily limited in his abilities. Healing is slow going, but we are making discoveries and growing through the process of change. It felt SO GOOD to create again in Artzadoni Studio!

So glad you are able to return to the studio for much needed rejuvenation. Hope DH has a good recovery. It's hard being a caregiver. This is a fun creation, love all the textures, shapes and imagery, subconscious or not!

You never fail to inspire Lori! WOW...Love your deep sea diver but it was the roving that caught my eye...how clever! How fun that your DH has started the book....sending my good wishes to him on his recovery.

WOW! Is this saying not the truth!! Sorry to hear about your hubs, I've gone through much with mine too, but he finally seems to be fully recovered. Fantastic card. Love the sea monster and the diver.
