Pat is hosting this weeks lovely "birds" teaparty for Kristine, a dear friend of Jean aka jkanack.
Thanks to Jean's Tickle a Teapotter challenge last week, I fell down a rabbit hole and I am still exploring the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi. Unlike last weeks brusho background, this one had an interesting looking spray pattern and didn't actually need "repairing", but I'm completely hooked on this fun technique. I limited the amount of gold leaf I applied, so as not to detract from the brushos spray pattern.
I sprayed the background with sheer shimmer gold craft spray, it doesn't photograph well, but the sparkle in real life is subtle and beautiful.
Kristine likes blue and purple, so I die cut a blueberry box (thank you very much Aldi) and added a few metalic paper punched leaves.
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to send some sunshine to Kristine.

This is simply gorgeous, my friend!!! Your bg looks like amethyst with pockets and veins of gold. The simple bird and branch are perfect finishes. Amazing work, Susie!!!

Oh this is lovely, Susie. Since I don't get on this site much these days, I completely missed that technique...your gorgeous creation has inspired me to go investigate how you did this. The colors are fabulous with the touches of gold.
