Lisa aka Shoe Girl is hosting this weeks teaparty for 15 year old RaiLynn at the Mayo Clinic in MN.
The background for this card is from my stencil stash. When ever I use stencils and texture paste, I use the excess paste on a clean piece of cardstock. The end result is very random and organic.
To colour this back ground I smacked distress inks onto al foil, squirted on heaps of water then dunked the pre-stencilled cardstock in the inky puddle. More colour is added by using a foam blending brush and undiluted distress ink.
I had a lot of trouble photographing this. The lower half of the card is a bright aqua, but it looks much darker here. I noticed that her make-up job looks dodgy here too, but she looks fine in real life.
I hope our bright and happy cards bring some sunshine to RaiLynn as she spends another month in hospital.
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to join in.

Susie, this is card is one of the best cards I have seen in a very long time. I love the textures, the colors, and the mermaid. I am drawn to the texture in her hair. Wow. So well done and so beautiful. Hugz

Susie, your cards just blow me away with all the details and fabulous images colored to perfection. I am in awe of this amazing underwater scene you have created here, and this mermaid- oh my! I know RaiLynn's jaw is going to hit the floor when she pulls this stunning card out of the envelope. Mermaids represent diving deep (emotionally) and RaiLynn has had to do this so what a perfect card this is for her - not to mention a show stopper at that! ~Karen.
