Lisa aka Shoe Girl is hosting this weeks teaparty for 15 year old RaiLynn at the Mayo Clinic in MN.
The background for this card is from my stencil stash. When ever I use stencils and texture paste, I use the excess paste on a clean piece of cardstock. The end result is very random and organic.
To colour this back ground I smacked distress inks onto al foil, squirted on heaps of water then dunked the pre-stencilled cardstock in the inky puddle. More colour is added by using a foam blending brush and undiluted distress ink.
I had a lot of trouble photographing this. The lower half of the card is a bright aqua, but it looks much darker here. I noticed that her make-up job looks dodgy here too, but she looks fine in real life.
I hope our bright and happy cards bring some sunshine to RaiLynn as she spends another month in hospital.
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to join in.

I love Molly Harrison images and this one is just fantastic Miss Susie. The BG from your stencil stash is fantastic for this image and the colors do look amazing with her too. Railynn is going to adore this gorgeous card. Thank you so much for creating this beauty to cheer up her room.

Such an adorable digi. Your bg is fabulous, mf. I am always surprised at how often the photo doesn't even remind me of the card I post.......sorry you had that happen too.

WOWSERS! Another fantastic piece of artwork Susie! That background rocks and as others have said, that liquid pearl headpiece is striking on your beautifully colored mermaid! You've inspired me to get back in my craft room! RaiLynn will be delighted to receive this special card!

A textural delight for RaiLynn! I love your stenciled BG and you color like no other. And the way you go to town perfectly with liquid pearls and stickles always blows my mind!

The textured bg adds so much interest but it is the pearl encrusted head covering that has me mesmerized! Well that plus the flowing purple locks - if I was "a bit" younger I just might be tempted to make this my own signature hair color.

What a gorgeous lil’ mermaid! The strands of her hair look 3d to me. And as Polly mentioned, the pearl accoutrement is gorgeous. You know how to squeeze and swirl those beautiful pearls. The background was masterfully created. Doesn’t seem off in color...there is all kinds of light filtering through the water, right! I can’t even tell you how many times I had to scroll up to view this. Another treasure for a very worthy young lady, thanks for sharing your art with us.
