Lisa aka Shoe Girl is hosting this weeks teaparty for 15 year old RaiLynn at the Mayo Clinic in MN.
The background for this card is from my stencil stash. When ever I use stencils and texture paste, I use the excess paste on a clean piece of cardstock. The end result is very random and organic.
To colour this back ground I smacked distress inks onto al foil, squirted on heaps of water then dunked the pre-stencilled cardstock in the inky puddle. More colour is added by using a foam blending brush and undiluted distress ink.
I had a lot of trouble photographing this. The lower half of the card is a bright aqua, but it looks much darker here. I noticed that her make-up job looks dodgy here too, but she looks fine in real life.
I hope our bright and happy cards bring some sunshine to RaiLynn as she spends another month in hospital.
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to join in.

I always love your mermaid creations, and enjoy the ones I have as I am sure RaiLynn will enjoy this. She looks so sweet in her pearly cap, and the underwater scene is magical, with sunlight filtering through.

Ah, Susie, I’ve gone from Polly’s beautiful mermaid to your beautiful mermaid! This is a fantastic card with the wonderful bg and I love how fabulously you use liquid pearls!
