The background was painted with distress paints. I removed the dauber and used a brush. The image was stamped and all the parts that were to be colored were painted with gesso. Pencil blends so well over gesso making this fun to color. The snowflake has wink of stella on it but the scan wasn't going to pick that up. Tiny 2mm nailheads were added for interest and edges were sponged a bit darker. Thanks for stopping by.

Looking around your gallery a little and this is another one I love. I am going to have to try this painting backgrounds and then painting the parts to color with gesso. Don't know if there is a name for that technique, but it sure does look lovely the way you do it. I keep finding lots of inspiration in your work! TFS!!
