I was delighted to be asked to be guest designer for Audrie's inspiration challenge. The sites she chooses are fantastic with so much to choose from. My inspiration is this one, the second image down with the baubles. It reminded me of a cool winter. The tree is made by gluing aluminum foil to cardstock, wrinkling it, adding paint and wiping it off. It was then die cut and inlaid into the card. Using a torn piece of paper I sponged in my clouds with different shades of memento ink and the snow is done the same way, a bit lighter using only a faint amount of London Fog. The word was die cut and inlaid with the same foil. Marbled half pearls were added to the tree. Thanks for stopping by and thanks Audrie for such a wonderful site.

WOW......this is so Beautiful! I can just feel the chilliness of this scene. Your clouds and snow are gorgeous. Thanks for the explanation on how you did the tree and "joy" - it sounds like finicky work, but what what stunning results.

Now this my friend, is fine art on a card! Your translation of the chosen inspiration piece is so impressive -- especially those clouds and snow. The snow actually looks wet and crunchy. The cold foil tree and marbled half pearls (did you do that yourself?) - amazing! You know, I just saw someone use Adirondack ink, with felt pad to color their flat pearls - go figure - I think I need to branch out (laughing).
