Here are some bookmarks I just finished for a swap. These are really cute and fast, and because the outer dimension is 5 1/2" x 2 1/8", you can get eight of them from one sheet of cardstock.
I used my handy color coach to give me the color combo that I picked, then decided how I wanted to best mat them. I stamped the flower/heart image from Merci using Basic Black ink on Shimmery White cardstock, then watercolored it in using ink pads and an aquapainter. I used the small heart image to stamp multiple random hearts onto the Brocade Blue cardstock.
I knew I wanted to add something at the top of the bookmark, so I punched some Regal Rose cardstock with the Round Tab punch, then adhered just the front of it to the top two layers of the bookmark. I punched through all 3 of these layers, attached the brads, then glued it onto the largest layer. After that I glued the back of the punched piece down to the back of the Mellow Moss piece so it looks completely finished on the back side.
To finish it off, I used the crop-a-dile to attach some jumbo eyelets, then ran my ribbon through and tied it off. I edged the white grosgrain with a Regal Rose marker to give it a little boost of color.
Thanks for looking!
