CC1061 Iconic Card 1
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: DCinkit

My card is for the Color Challenge hosted by Barbara and our month long special dessert option: Christmas in July. Barbara chose four bright, happy colors: Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, and Pool Party.

I started by cutting 1/2 inch strips in all four challenge colors. Then I glued them diagonally across a full sheet of white cardstock. When I was done, I trimmed the edges from what hung over and then cut into four equal panels. From there, I die-cut three circles from each panel.

I stamped the iconic images in multiples & die-cut them out. The heart & tree are two-step stamping. The snowflake was white heat embossed. I decided to trim up the panel to give a wider border on the card base. Then, I attached the die-cut panel and then popped up the images inside each circle. I stamped a Merry Christmas from another set and used the Iconic die to cut it. The final touch was to embellish with some gems.

Check out my card 2 to see what I did with the circles that were cut away. I posted two cards of the cards I made. Since I had four panels cut from the full sheet, I had four sets of circles, so I was able to make 8 cards total. All from one sheet of glued strips.

We hope you will join in with Christmas in July and have fun with these fabulous colors! TFL

Diane, What a clever way to mass produce Christmas cards! I love the bright stripes in the challenge colors, and the cute little iconic images. Hey, I have that greeting set, too!

We’ve been on the same wavelength! Super idea to die cut spaces for the cute images.
