I do not like origami or folding paper shapes like this. I am all thumbs and I get so frustrated. So after going through 5 sheets of DP, this is the best I can do.

Mary your tree is beautiful done with this pretty paper, I think you've just fold it the wrong way, when you fold the "branches" there were you've got the cuts, you fold to the bottom in diagonal but from up to down, no matters, nobody will notice because it's pretty in anyway!!

I enjoy origami, but I had trouble with this at first too. Mine looks very much like this too. For my second try, I used printer psper and it worked better.
