 | | You know I have stories about paper mache'...always have stories. I was never very good at art in school and one time I complained to my Dad that the art teacher was always on me to create faster. My Dad was friends with that art teacher and the art teacher chose to 'spot me out' in study hall to talk to me about it. I think the only thing I ever made that was paper mache' was a balloon. Yes, a red balloon with a balloon inside the paper mache'. So creative, Jean. The second story is that my sil made paper mache' heads of my brother John and bil Dale for their 40th birthday parties, which we all attended in Michigan. The day of party, John was in the kitchen, pealing an apple, turned on the garbage disposal and a geyser of water, paper and glue went up. The sink was clogged because Judy had dumped the paper mache' water into the sink. John said 'why is there paper in the sink?' My sister and I looked at Judy and could hardly contain ourselves. Those heads became legend and they may still exist, 25 years later.
I was playing with DOx sprays and Brushos so that is what the background is. I mounted a book page on cs and diecut my new octopus die. I gave this card a 2 because it took forever to get all the little bits out of that die. Otherwise a very simple card. So impressed with the paper mache' artists, of which I will never be one. |
