Andy Granick's lesson on Day 13 of Online Card Classes' "Spring Card Camp 2" inspired this card. I didn't have the rainbow striped patterned paper he used, so I took a cue from Jennifer McGuire and made my own. I cut 7/8" wide strips from a rainbow assortment of cardstocks, then adhered them at an angle on a piece of lightweight white cardstock. After I had stuck them all down, I trimmed off the overhanging bits around the edges.
I lined up my "Stitched Rectangles" dies on my grid mat, centering each inside the others. When I had them placed evenly, I used a long piece of yellow Frog tape to hold them together. I taped them to my rainbow stripe panel, and die cut it. I did have to go back and add a little liquid glue under some of the strip pieces where they ended up not being fully adhered to the background, but there weren't that many spots.
I added foam tape to the back of each frame. After I stamped my greeting in the center of a white card base, I started adhering my frames. I used every other frame, leaving a space in between each, & making sure the colors lined up properly. I actually ended up getting 2 cards for the price of one, since I used the other frames & center panel for a second card. I used the same greeting on that, & just stamped it onto the center rainbow panel before I added foam tape to it. I always love a good two-fer!
