Mary is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has asked us to make a card using Melon Mambo, Lemon Lime Twist and Basic Black. The dessert option is a last-minute Mother's Day card. Although this card could be used for Mother's Day, it is going to a long-time friend of mine on the east coast.
I tried a new-to-me photography style this week, "Flat Lay Photography." Instead of standing the card up and shooting it straight on, you lay the card on a table, place a few interesting items around it, climb up on a stool and shoot straight down. I like this style for a lot of reasons. First and foremost, you can actually see that I covered the black lettering with a glitter gloss pen. I've never been able to capture that effect with my old style of photography.
This card is pretty self-explanatory. I stamped the greeting first, then laid the flowers around the edges and stamped. I masked the flowers and stamped the leaves. Die cut that panel with a stitched rectangle from Blueprints 13. The little black dots in the centers of the flowers are Enamel Accents from Ranger.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

Wow what a gorgeous card and I'll have to try your flat photography. I've
never heard of flat photography before. I love the big bold sentiment, talking about making a statement.
