For the color challenge, I decided to make an Easter card with tulips. I used the larger leaf die from the Swirly Scribbles thinlits set for the side petal and used the smallest oval die for the back and front petals. I cut the flower petals from Blushing Bride cardstock and sponged the edges with Melon Mambo. I used a chalk marker to soften the melon color into the cardstock. To assemble the petals, I placed one of the oval pieces in back, added the two leaf shapes to the sides, and then overlapped another oval for the front petal. (I used my stylus to add a vein in the middle of the front petal.) Once I had the layers of the flower lined up on the top end, I rounded off the bottom edge with a circle punch. To even out each flower a little more, I trimmed the bottom sides with my paper snips. I cut the stems and leaves freehand from Mint Macaron cardstock. To add shading and texture, I sponged each piece with Cucumber Crush ink, then stamped them with the wood-like stamp from the Timeless Textures set. I added a butterfly and the Easter sentiment to finish the card.
