Made as a Design Team card for Try Stampin' -Or Not' on Tuesday sketch challenge #310: http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/ with the optional theme "Twinkle, Twinkle".

I wanted to take a slightly different approach on the twinkle holiday theme using lights instead of stars. I started with the string of lights designer paper, and played around with the colors of the lights for the front panel and card base. Since I wanted the strings of lights to have a visual continuity, I decided to go with the light blue for the panel, rather than the red. The three string of light panels measure 1.125"x 5" each. This allowed the Pool Party cardstock to show between and along the edges of the pattern paper.

The holiday light bulb was inked first on a Versamark pad, then on the Bermuda Bay pad before stamping onto Whisper White. This is a great way to create matching color heat embossed elements to match your ink and paper colors. I then sprinkled the bulb with clear embossing powder and heat embossed it to get a shiny light bulb look. It was finally hand cut with scissors (this 1999 collection of cute little stamps doesn't have matching die cuts). It was mounted using a small piece of Adhesive Foam Strip to give the card more dimension.

The sentiment was stamped onto Whisper White using Cherry Cobbler ink. Then glued onto a Cherry Cobbler matting and mounted onto the card using Adhesive Foam Strips.

I debated adding "rays" shining from the bulb on the blue circle, but decided against it since the three vertical panels were "busy" already.

This card came together pretty quickly, so would be suitable as a "mass production" card to send to all your relatives and friends.
