This is a very belated card for Jean. Jean is Octoberbabes sister-in-law and the recipient of last weeks teapot tuesday cards. I spent 42,000 hours trying to make a personalised card for Jean...I tried hair rollers and mountains...not a good look so I decided to make a card featuring badgers.
Now we don't have badgers here in Australia so I googled them. Hmmm they are not the cutest things I have ever seen (perhaps they don't photograph well). I learnt heaps about badgers (did you know they are born blind), anyway the website I was on refered to American Badgers not Wisconsin Badgers, so I narrowed down my google search. You can see whats coming hey......yes I now know that Wisconsin Badgers are not critters with a face that only a mother could love.....they are athletics teams.
So, back to this card. I decided to make a similar card to the one I made for this weeks teaparty guest of honour (Linda).
The card was originally a "photocard". I cut the front of the card out and using Perfect Layer Tools I mounted the photo on purple coloured paper. I then glued on heaps of little flowers and used liquid pearls in the center. This picture looks rather 'flat' but in real life the little flowers and leaves have real pop.
Sorry for taking so long to send this card to Jean.

What a fantastic way to add "life" to your original photo card! I LOVE that you added all the tiny flowers and liquid pearls for centers! I can only imagine how gorgeous this is in real life, but I am sure Jean will be thrilled!!!

Susie, your card and post write up are superb! I wanted to reach right through this computer screen and give you the biggest hug when I read your line about the Wisconsin Badgers *hahaha* My husband was born and raised in Wisconsin as young boy until his parents moved to Arizona when he was 10. I read your post to him and we both laughingly said it's a good thing you didn't have to google "Cheese Heads" Wisconsin is "Packer" country and they do take their sports very seriously.
Now, let's talk about your beautiful card. Did you take the photograph, Susie? Let me say I loved the idea of adding the cluster of little flowers, and I can definitely see the liquid pearl centers. I think it did give dimension. The card reminds me of the photography cards you see in a nice card shop downtown. It's lovely, Susie. I've been going through your gallery a little at a time just marveling at all the detail you've created on your cards - beautiful!
