Michelle's WTUI challenge today was to use green, since Pantone have said emerald green is the colour of the year.
I used garden greens for a couple of challenges earlier in the week, so I went way out of orbit with my greens today . I have a strict policy of never making cards I can't use, and goodness only knows when I'll use this but it was fun. And after my first day back at work (mistake, I should have stayed home) and on a wet rainy afternoon, fun is OK.
5 3/4" square base. I stamped watercolour paper with the IO Flourishes in Versamark, and lightly sprinkled silver, green and gold EP over it. Then I sponged with black distress ink. To frame it, I added narrow tape and green glitter round the sides and top.
When I went to look at something on the StarvingArtistamps site last week I found they had a great sale on, so I got a set I wanted, and then while I was paying the carriage anyway I couldn't resist the Final Frontier set. Images stamped on watercolour paper. I used mostly inks to colour them, a mix of Winsor & Newton and J Herbin. I think inks must fade with age - the domed city came out of a bottle that SAID emerald green, but the viridian came out exactly the same colour. Domed city has a couple of layers of UTEE. Alien and Earth are popped up on foam. Computer generated sentiment ~ font is Moonstar.
Sorry for the bad photo - it hasn't stopped raining since I left work. I'm counting this in for MIX1 since I used my inks - let's just say I've had them since I was in school and that's not yesterday or the day before.

This is so cute. ss about work....the next day will be better...:0). I try to make a policy of making a card I need.....lol....yah ...um...didnt work for me either...lol...i have like 100 on my shelf. its so addicting and fun to join the challenges...:0). Love too your pun on taking the green out of this orbit....he-he...glad you had fun here its worth it...cardmaking always makes ones day..;0)...TFS
