This card is for today's Teapot Tuesday Challenge: what do snowman do at night? My particular snowman has been a bit depressed by the unrelenting dark at the north pole. When he heard that there were guests expected for a party (we're all visiting for a tea party and spying on the snowman too), he got excited thinking that maybe this was a Solstice Celebration and the dark would be receding. He even went out with a bunch of bird houses, hoping that might encourage Spring to arrive a bit sooner. I haven't got the heart to tell him that it will be dark for a while longer.
Image was stamped and colored with markers. Then I masked the snomman and sponged in layers of color for the sky. I added home made flower soft and glitter for snow. Layered, added a greeting and then some punched snowflakes.
What do you think? Should we tell him that winter will be staying for a while or just let him keep smiling and waiting to welcome the birds.
Edit: I almost didn't make it to the tea party as I had the wrong code, but it's fixed now, so I hope to see you all soon!

I'm with you on the dark - at least I only work mornings and get home in daylight, but some days are just grey and more grey - I can understand your snowman suffering from SAD. I think this is so beautiful, I love your blues. And the splashes of green and turquoise - thought that teapot was such lovely colours. I hope all the birds are tucked up safely, but love the snowman's optimism. Was awake for two hours in the night, so not seeing the best - is that a little bird tucked up in the nest?

Glad you could make it Kathy. I just love your snowman with all his bird houses. How sweet is that. I don't think we want to depress him with reality. We'll let him stay dilusional. Hee.

Love your story, love your image, love your colors. Spring, that is a beautiful word but your snowman might be disappointed to know how long he has to wait. Tell him to have a cup of tea and chill.

Oh, Kathy, this is just so cute! I love the colors and the night sky is fantastic. Why does SU retire such cute stamps? Great card!
