Here is my card for the His Holy Name challenge and also the Flourishes Challenge. I love it the fact that it fits into two catagories as I had already planned to use the fabulous flourish/swirl on this card. I have stamped it on black and cut it out to make it a bit more dramatic.
As I am making these cards for a gift set, which I am going to call the 'Words of Wisdom Collection' I am trying to keep them in a theme but each one totally individual too. I had this one totally planned in my head and when I put it together it was just too busy and everywhere - slightly resembled road kill LOL!!! So I tried to streamline it a bit as the background is very busy but I just love it and knew it would be perfect with what I wanted....so after some time I went with this and decided to leave it until this morning before deciding where to go from there - what a difference a day makes...I am happy with this, although a bit different for me.
It is a bit of a combined effort as the DP s from Pat Smethers, the punched branches and butterfly from Roxystamper. The beautiful gold button on the flower and the gold wings are from Peggy (aka Marilyn Prestonn) and friends. Those wings are symbolic that God shelters us under his wings - protects us...so thank you my lovely and generous stamping sisters for your contribution to this card...your touches made it special for me!
I love the fact that God is our Protector and Refuge. As soon as I read that, this scripture came straight to mind. God protects us in so many many ways, in the natural and the spiritual and He is also very interested in protecting our hearts. These days it is so easy to get overwhelmed with what life brings and to let our hearts get weary...how comforting to know that God is here, our Protector, Refuge and Rock - sounds good to me!
Thank you for looking...what do you think - it is too busy....I am interested to hear!!

Linda~ I didn't even know this was your card when I clicked on it! The flourish drew me in, and then I said 'that is my favorite DP ever!' Then I saw your name, ah... my sweet friend! I love this design, and the wonderful layout. How moving are your words! He is our Protector and Refuge! I love the symbolism of the wings. I am so happy that we are doing this study. How great is it to combine our passions? Beautiful. LYMI

Linda this is just so classy, and the words are very much the focal point. Just so beautiful, especially when you share how much others have contributed. TFS :-) From a fellow Kiwi!!
