I have made many tile coasters from non-marble tile. I just make sure they have a dull finish (travertine type tile) and stamp with stazon. Then I color in with a permanent marker made for glass...

I made a sympathy card for a couple who lost their wonderful dog. They said they loved it and both cried when they read it. Warmed my heart that a simple card would touch them that way.
