As part of a monthly scraplift challenge I was lucky to be able to scraplift one of Lela's LO's. She has an amazing gallery so there was lots to choose from. I had wanted to use the photo frames for weeks so when I saw Lela's LO I knew it was the one to copy.
I tried to stick to Lela's original LO as much as possible but as always happens when I stamp, I end up with ink everywhere. I had also started this LO 2 days earlier and was just waiting for one of my oval dies to return which a friend had borrowed. I shouldn't have waited plus it turned out that my dies weren't the right size so I ended up improvising with another one.
The frames were originally white so out came SU Real Red to colour them. After 2 days of drying time and sitting on my craft table, the colour had lightened so nothing else for it but to get out the ink to try and deepen it. I also had some glue on one of the frames which had made a mess, so ended up moving the bottle top embellishment to the frame to cover that up.
Notes to self:
Try and finish a LO the same day and stick to the plan. Never try and colour an element once it's stuck on your LO.
Also check the paper you use to cover photos with and make sure there's no ink on it!!!
The LO ended up with ink at the bottom of the white page....doh!, doh!, doh! :( After trying to rub it off, as well as using gesso (I will try anything ), I decided nothing else but to distress the edges more. Wrong move. Now I had TH distress ink on there as well as SU...more doh, doh, doh moments.
Finally I resorted to stamping more arrows and lines to cover up the mess. Now why didn't I think of that in the first place!!
All I can say is that I loved Lela's LO and I am happy with my copy, ink and all.
Thanks for taking time to look at my LO. Happy day
PS: That SU ink is very juicy so beware

LOL. Well, I wouldn't have known, you were covering up ink smears if you hadn't said something! It all looks like it is as exactly as planned! It is a great lay out, as well as a wonderful scraplift! I love how you improvised your oval and all of your red frames. I am glad you are happy with your layout, because to me it is perfect. Thank you Jayne for playing this month's Scraplift Challenge.

Fun layout! I love all the "movement" of the page. And you're right about that Real Red. It is so juicy I almost hate to use it but the red is so perfect for so many projects. I've purchased others but they are not a true red (IMO)

Wow, I love all the doodled lines and arrows for this page! I'm with Sharon, had you not mentioned covering ink smears, I would have never known, it looks all perfect for this page. I love the feel of action on your page and the page you chose to scraplift
