The challenge for the CAS334 is to include an apple on your project. This may not qualify for CAS but I have been working on learning to use Brushos in various ways and I have been practicing by hand drawing an apple and then applying the Brushos in various ways.
This particular version involves sprinkling the yellow brusho powder on the dry paper, then sprinkling on some of the brilliant red and then spritzing with water close to the paper until the colors move and blend. Then you use a paint brush to move the colors around. This lesson is also about painting the negative (outside the shape) to create shadows and depth.
I really like using the Brushos for more than backgrounds or emboss resist techniques.

This is so cool...I just got some Brushes but haven't had an opportunity to use them. Thanks, so much, for the inspiration to dig them out and for playing along with this week's CAS challenge!

I love this, Harriet! I was playing with something similar yesterday but working on matboard, so the surface wasn't really responsive to blending. I love negative painting - it's something I really want to get good at. Love your use of colors here!

Oh my gosh, I love this Harriet!!! My husband and I went to an art show this weekend and this reminds me of some of what I saw. You're ready girl. You can pack it up and show it. Beautifully done.
