We live March Madness in our house also, Holstein...I get right in with my family once the tourney. Love the long/tall call for today...it challenged me with the issues of scale...
Over at the Teapot Challenge this week, we are creating flower and fairy cards to tickle one another. You were to pick your birthday month flower and/or fairy and design a card based on those elements. Well, my birthday is in September. Asters and Forget-me-nots. I am taking a tiny bit of creative license with the actual flowers and fairy...I simply could not resist using this Longfellow quote:
Silently,
one by one,
in the infinite
meadows of Heaven
Blossomed
the lovely stars
the forget-me-nots
of the Angels
I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Smoky Gray directly to my card stock. On another piece of paper, I
inked the 'bowl of stars' image with the various colors of ink listed above. I brayerd the paper to get a good image. After it was dry, I colored some of the stars with the Stardust Pens. Then the image was torn from the paper and popped up above the base. A small bit of silver mesh wide ribbon runs under the panel with the bow tied on the inside.
Thanks Linda for stretching me with your long, tall card this week. I went outside of my comfort zone and I'm thinking I like being out of the box!
And to my fellow Teapotters, I hope you'll allow me my angel tossing stars down from the heavens....like forget-me-nots.
Thanks for stopping by today.
as if this wasn't long enough, I am editing to add a link
to the very first time I inked this stamp Stars. Very interesting where the muse leads us....

Oh Susan - I just love this! I wish it was raining stars - or forget-me-nots - here, instead of raining so heavily that I'm thinking of wearing wellington boots and looking out my waterproof trousers. So, is the image a negative image, and you inked the stamp with all those colours? It certainly gives a beautiful effect.

Another beautiful creation from that fabulous collection of stamps you own. This touches my heart. Beautifully stamped and arranged on this "tall" card.

Susan, this is so creative and out of the box thinking! I love the whole heavenly scene! Love the darkness of the sky and the chalkboard effect of the angel and stars......just like a dream! That poem is wonderful too!

Oh my, Susan! I love that quote! Your stamping is superb; love the depth of colour. It's not easy to portray the night sky on paper but you've captured it splendidly. Wonderful pairing of image and sentiment. Lovely!

Oh Susan, as I have told you before, I love the way your artisic mind thinks. This is stunning with the creation of the night sky, and the perfect long quote. Thanks for playing along today.
