We live March Madness in our house also, Holstein...I get right in with my family once the tourney. Love the long/tall call for today...it challenged me with the issues of scale...
Over at the Teapot Challenge this week, we are creating flower and fairy cards to tickle one another. You were to pick your birthday month flower and/or fairy and design a card based on those elements. Well, my birthday is in September. Asters and Forget-me-nots. I am taking a tiny bit of creative license with the actual flowers and fairy...I simply could not resist using this Longfellow quote:
Silently,
one by one,
in the infinite
meadows of Heaven
Blossomed
the lovely stars
the forget-me-nots
of the Angels
I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Smoky Gray directly to my card stock. On another piece of paper, I
inked the 'bowl of stars' image with the various colors of ink listed above. I brayerd the paper to get a good image. After it was dry, I colored some of the stars with the Stardust Pens. Then the image was torn from the paper and popped up above the base. A small bit of silver mesh wide ribbon runs under the panel with the bow tied on the inside.
Thanks Linda for stretching me with your long, tall card this week. I went outside of my comfort zone and I'm thinking I like being out of the box!
And to my fellow Teapotters, I hope you'll allow me my angel tossing stars down from the heavens....like forget-me-nots.
Thanks for stopping by today.
as if this wasn't long enough, I am editing to add a link
to the very first time I inked this stamp Stars. Very interesting where the muse leads us....

Angels tossing stars from heaven, like forget-me-nots....it's the perfect poem for your amazing creation. I really like how you tore around the image panel you created and popped it up. Coupled with the silver details, it looks like an ancient scroll unfurling for us to read. Very creative! TFS

Oh Susan this is STUNNING. The colours are dramatic and beautiful, the verse you chose is so lovely and touching and I think many angels started out life as fairies. Straight into My Favs my friend.

Absolutely beautiful and tugging at my heart strings. My grandmother loved Longfellow and I am fortunate enough to have one of her books "Three Noted Poems" and inside she dated it 1926. It always brings me fond memories of her. The forget-me-nots remind me of my Dad as we were given seed packets of them at his funeral. oh...back to your card, over-the-top wonderful in every way! TFS
