We live March Madness in our house also, Holstein...I get right in with my family once the tourney. Love the long/tall call for today...it challenged me with the issues of scale...
Over at the Teapot Challenge this week, we are creating flower and fairy cards to tickle one another. You were to pick your birthday month flower and/or fairy and design a card based on those elements. Well, my birthday is in September. Asters and Forget-me-nots. I am taking a tiny bit of creative license with the actual flowers and fairy...I simply could not resist using this Longfellow quote:
Silently,
one by one,
in the infinite
meadows of Heaven
Blossomed
the lovely stars
the forget-me-nots
of the Angels
I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine Smoky Gray directly to my card stock. On another piece of paper, I
inked the 'bowl of stars' image with the various colors of ink listed above. I brayerd the paper to get a good image. After it was dry, I colored some of the stars with the Stardust Pens. Then the image was torn from the paper and popped up above the base. A small bit of silver mesh wide ribbon runs under the panel with the bow tied on the inside.
Thanks Linda for stretching me with your long, tall card this week. I went outside of my comfort zone and I'm thinking I like being out of the box!
And to my fellow Teapotters, I hope you'll allow me my angel tossing stars down from the heavens....like forget-me-nots.
Thanks for stopping by today.
as if this wasn't long enough, I am editing to add a link
to the very first time I inked this stamp Stars. Very interesting where the muse leads us....

Susan I clicked your link from the WT thread because I sensed something special from your card title - and I was not disappointed! Glorious in word, image and execution of your idea, your card leaves me at a loss for words in it's stunning beauty and completeness of thought. We are blessed when you share your talent with us. Hugz from the other side of the continent!

Jaw dropping gorgeous, Susan using a difficult technique of getting a white image on a dark background! What an awesome stamp and design! Love the sky in your heavenly image!

What a beautiful quote. My dear departed sister's MIL plants Forget Me Nots on her grave each year. What a sweet idea to believe that she is enjoying them in Heaven. Your image is lovely, as well. Colors are perfect and I like the torn and sponged edge. Into my faves.

Well aren't you the creative one! I'll bet your mind is always thinking of new ways to create! Beautiful way to present an angel tossing stars or flowers from heaven! Lovely sentiment. No, I've never been in a gondola nor a hot air balloon before. I'm not too fond of high places, but that hasn't stopped me from being in high places.......
