Pixie spray works. I recommend spraying outside with the mat in a vertical position. When it’s laid flat, you can get larger bits of the adhesive instead of just a fine spray.

At least half of my cards are top folding, so I guess that doesn’t help you much. But when they are side-folding the folded side goes in first, with the card facing the back of the envelope.

Depending on how many words there are, it might be a pain to find the one you are looking for. I imagine the cut areas could get attached to each other, too, depending on how you store them.
