Cleaning Stamp sets

I recently lent out my stamp sets (I know, I know) and they came back with the wood all inked up. Is there anyway to clean them up? I was thinking about using a fine sandpaper but am not sure.

I was thrilled to hear about the stamp sets and the prices were great! Then I remembered, being Canadian, they are going to increase the prices by at least 30%. :( Then its not such a bargain...

With regards to the S & H with SU, the 10% still bothers me. No one can tell me that SU doesn't have a corporate acct with UPS or whoever else they vend with, due to the numerous amounts of Stamps...
