Lisa gave us a challenge on what we would do on our day off. Mine is a little different, because of retirement. There are many things we can't do right now unless they are outdoors and few people involved. Three times a week three of us take a walk in the morning. It is on a road that runs through a woods and swamp. The road was constructed during the depression. The base is actually made of logs with layers and layers of gravel. There is wildlife like deer, turkeys, sand cranes and other critters. It can be driven on, but very little traffic. We really enjoy the birds. The best thing is we talk and share are thoughts. Like many of us, we miss our families and friends. We walk all twelve months, unless the weather is bad. This and making cards have kept me sane through this pandemic. Printed digi, colored, added stencil bg and sponged around the edges. Tried to watercolor the die sentiment with the colors in the image. TFL

Your BG for your bird is amazing. Fantastic card and I hope that you are still managing to get lots of walks in with your friends. Keep well. TFS. Happy day

Favourited - what gorgeous colouring, and what a lovely write-up. I find that with cycling to work I don't have the energy to join DH on his walks along the canal, and I miss them. Your walks sound wonderful with all the wildlife and tranquility.

Great image to represent your walks Linda. I love your stunning coloring of it too. I need to get out and walk more as I get stuck indoors working all day at home and working out in my basement is just not the same. Thank you so much for playing along.

Oh my goodness, that blue jay among the berries is just such a beauty. Outstanding card, Linda, and I LOVE it. Your walk sounds wonderful and in a delightful place. I had one of those walks today through the woods. Awesome! Back to your card, I love your background as well as the main image.

I love the clarity of your focal image, your coloring is startlingly clear, the realism is amazing. Then the background has a neat dualism with the textures, and dualism of the focal image and the background. This is complex and so very beautiful--it really blows me away.

Linda, I have missed so many amazing cards this past year, and I especially have missed yours. This is so amazing, and I am drawn in by your exquisite watercoloring. The bluejay is so detailed and stands out so beautifully. And the background is beautiful and totally works so well with the colors and the stenciling. Thank you for sharing your work so we can study it and hopefully learn more about watercoloring. I too wish I was able to get outside the take walks with a few friends. It must be so relaxing and such wonderful time of fellowship. Yes, we are retired, so one day blends with another. But I do believe we need to set apart time to simply relax and unplug. It's very clear you do that. Thanks for your lovely comment on my card. I'm slowly gaining more energy, and I find it relaxing to color myself. While I love Copic markers, I definitely want to work on watercoloring. Hope you have a lovely week, my friend! Hugs and love! xoxo
