I stamped the sentiment ( it translates as "Listen to your Heart") on pale pink parchment and embossed with gold then took 2 round toothpicks and fashioned into tiny dowels to roll my scroll around. Finished this with some metallic threads wrapped around one end of my dowel. The vase was stamped & embossed with black for a lacquerware look then the floral design was enhanced with a bit of watercolor. Every Geisha House needs a Geisha so printed this digi and colored with prismacolor pencils (no, I didn't forget to finish coloring her - Geishas traditionally wear White pancake makeup!) I fussy cut her and added Stickles crystal to the flower centers on her Kimono, the fans and her hair ornaments.
Now to the card base - my biggest conundrum was how to get something resembling a floor in my house . . .Thought long & hard on this and finally decided to try the TH Rays stencil. Sponged DOX Frayed Burlap over the stencil then rubbed sand colored artists chalk over that entire surface with a cotton ball . . . I like the looks of this! I had originally stamped some trailing vines on the left hand side of the card but wasn't happy with the look so covered most of them with my DP wallpaper and hung the scroll. In the end I covered the remaining vines with a piece of Japanese Washi Tape - they still show through but aren't so "in your face". Arranged My Geisha and lacquerware vase then at the last minute decided it needed a string of paper lanterns. Stamped with a birthstone rainbow pad and added more stickles for lots of shimmer & shine on this card. Finished with a trio of aqua gems under the scroll.

Whew! So glad you invited us to go on this creative ride with you through your write up. I knew we were climbing high when your scroll fashioning was described at the beginning. All your work is so thoughtful with details to delight. I'd gladly sit on that floor with you and have tea.

In 100% agreement with all the other comments on here. Your scroll is fabulous and almost draws the attention away from that beautiful Geisha, ..almost! Covering your in your face vines, covering with washi tape, what covering - I just saw another beautiful element of this card. It is as near perfection as it can be.

Wow Linda, I am completely taken with this oh-so gorgeous card you made. The colors are fantastic and the entire card design is too. Like Susie said, how brilliant of you to use the TH sun rays stencil to create this floor with, and it looks amazing. Thank you for this tip because I may try this myself sometime. I love how you added the sentiment to a scroll like this, the vase is stunning and so is your Geisha. I am still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor! ~Karen.

Wow! Gorgeous card full of fabulous details. Love what you did to create the floor and cover up you “didn’t likes”. Sadly, i often can’t think of ways to salvage mine and they end up in the trash. Nicely done.

Love this beautiful scene, Linda, straight into my favs! The wording on the scroll looks wonderful and your geisha lady so beautifully coloured. My favourite part though is the floor, how clever to use the stencil!! I have this stencil so am going to keep this in mind. Love the vase, the wallpaper, the lanterns, all wow!
