I have always wanted to try an Eclipse card - This is the first and will probably be my last as it took me almost 6 hours to put together . . . . and because of that let me add my apologies to whoever receives this card as I don't have time to start over now that I'm back to work full time . . . .
I downloaded and printed the plain teapot - Then masked it and stamped the hearts and flowers border across the center in Ruby Red. Colored the teapot with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. Die cut my sentiment 3 times (plain white, black and then from the card front). I layered each letter 3 times and set back into the teapot. I was down to placing the final 2 letters when OOPS - reality FINALLY dawned on me that what I created was a Scottish Taepot! After a quick study, I realized there is no easy fix for this type of card. I am totally heartsick about this . . . but crap happens and life will go on just the same. SO - I framed it with red, Using a corner adorner to punch the slots then fussy cut the frame with a deckle edged scissors, mounting the entire piece on a white card base.

Oh, ha - even though I'd read your title, it wasn't till the second time I looked at your card that I realised your oopsie. You could call it Irish too, although it's spelled differently, tea in Irish is pronounced Tay, and in some local accents you'd definitely hear taepot. It's still fantastic, and will be received as a work of heart, I am absolutely sure. It's a fun technique, though - you should try it again.

I love your taepot! When I was younger I wore a lot of hats but was always unsure if I got the angle right until a friend told me that the way to wear a hat was with confidence. I think the way to deal with the "oops" moments is probably the same.

When life hands you lemons....or in your case, taepots....! It's still a lovely card!

Linda, I absolutely adore your Scottish Taepot and would be proud to receive it! I agree with Polly, it is more valuable now! This is so creative and beautifully made (I really love how you added the hearts and flowers across the middle of the teapot - this is just gorgeous) and you did the eclipse technique too. Fun! The red framing is gorgeous and really highlights your beautiful teapot so nicely. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done Linda and a gorgeous card for the challenges too! Hugs! ~Karen.

I'm sorry to laugh, but it's pretty funny. And any of us teapotters will be thrilled to get this fabulous teapot with the "Taepot Tickle" eclipse. Look on the bright side, you can still send this labor of love to us--we all totally understand!
