The stamp I used for the frame is a 5" x 7" stamp by the Rubber Cafe that I have owned for many years. It works great in the MISTI, I just used various coloured distress inks and water until I had the look I wanted.
While the cardstock was still a tiny bit damp, I tore 5/8" strips using a metal ruler. Once dry, I adhered several cardboard strips together, then used foam tape to attach the finished strips. I purposely glued the frame together at ever so slightly different lengths and angle, to give a rustic organic look.
I don't know if you can see it in the photo, but the coloured distress ink sky has fine brush marks under it. Long story short, I had some gesso left over the other day and decided to clean the pot and brush by using it up on cardstock.
Blending watery distress ink over gesso is like spreading melted butter and it gives a hand painted look....who knew!
Thank you for looking and I hope you are all safe and well.
EDIT: Polly's comment just reminded me...the little round door opens and I wrote "Hello Joann" inside.
