I have heaps of memories lying on the floor, surrounded by paper, crayons and colouring pencils. I remember drawing and doodling big flowers and strange looking people. I would then spend ages cutting out my drawings and pasting them in a scrap book.
About the only thing that has changed, is I no longer lay on the floor to colour in.....it would take me too long to get up LOL.
I have never sat down and thought why I am drawn to weirdo arty images, doodling, fussy cutting and art journalling - seems the love started in my childhood.
Before I started, I put down a layer of gesso. The magic of gesso often means dodgy stamping or colouring can be wiped off with a damp cloth. These background pages were already done, this challenge inspired me to colour an A4 sheet, then cut it up and paste it in place.
I hope you get a chance to join in. Thank you for looking.

Oh my goodness I just LOVE this to pieces and it wouldn't be "YOU" if it wasn't this fun arty look! I love your style and your fun whimsical designs so much! I'm with you on the childhood memories of coloring in a coloring book with crayons....it helped to occupy time for my mom! LOL! Thanks for sharing this stunning AJ layout! HUGS

who knows why we love what we love!? For me, I live in a fantasy world because real is too scary. I adore your weird people, mermaids, collage. Wonderful!

Oh, Susie, I love this so much!!! You got me started on Vera Lane images and now I have several. She's a genius and her artwork never fails to make me smile. I remember drawing and coloring for hours when I was a child also. I used to love making paper dolls and creating their clothing. Aren't you glad we can still do what we loved as kids?

LOL! Miss Susie, I get it, if I had to color on the floor I would need help getting up. But what a fun memory and super cute card for the memory too. I always love seeing your fun images. They bring big smiles.

Thank you for sharing your artistic process with us Susie!! I like the part where you are laying down. I think there was something that helped us view the world better from a laying down position. I enjoyed this challenge, only wish I would have written more.

Delightful as always, my friend! Thanks for all your kind comments on my cards! What I love about your art work is that it is usually so playful - and I know it spreads delight to all who are lucky enough to view it!!

yes, we used to lay on the floor at my gmas house because, she had such cool tile on the floor in there and when you rubbed your paper with a crayon it gave it such a cool design
