This is for Robin and Francie's fun Free for All challenge "Where's my Mojo".
When my mojo goes on holidays without me, I reach for my favourite old garden and tree stamps, distress inks, liquid pearls and a crazy bird to dress up.
The background was quick and easy - smack a distress ink pad onto aluminium foil, squirt on water and dunk the card in the watery puddle. Dry, then repeat process, using a different colour. Dry, repeat until desired effect.
Once the background is nice and dry, I stamped on the garden and trees. When I don't want these things to be a feature, I use any black ink pad that's lost its intensity (which is what I did here).
Alternatively you can stamp all the garden on before the background is 100% dry, the black ink will sort of bleed into the background ink as the entire panel dries.
Of course you can use a good ink pad and just stamp off the first inking.
When DH saw this he suggested that her knees weren't level. He said that as though seeing a bird wearing a pink hat and a lace mini skirt, was somehow normal!
This is going to a friend who is turning 70. In a really faint (aka dried out) micron pen, I wrote the number 70, seventy times on the card. The sentiment by Stampendous, was embossed so it would stand out a bit more - thank goodness for MISTI.
Thanks very much for looking, I hope you get a chance to join in.

Into my favorites too, because your background is spectacular, and that bird an absolute delight. I love your creative and lovely style and love that it includes an element of whimsy and humor.

Susie, your creativity never ceases to amaze me! Dressing up her hat with feathers along with adding a lacy skirt and she looks ready to roll for any adventure! What a fab birthday card for your lucky friend!
