This is for Robin and Francie's fun Free for All challenge "Where's my Mojo".
When my mojo goes on holidays without me, I reach for my favourite old garden and tree stamps, distress inks, liquid pearls and a crazy bird to dress up.
The background was quick and easy - smack a distress ink pad onto aluminium foil, squirt on water and dunk the card in the watery puddle. Dry, then repeat process, using a different colour. Dry, repeat until desired effect.
Once the background is nice and dry, I stamped on the garden and trees. When I don't want these things to be a feature, I use any black ink pad that's lost its intensity (which is what I did here).
Alternatively you can stamp all the garden on before the background is 100% dry, the black ink will sort of bleed into the background ink as the entire panel dries.
Of course you can use a good ink pad and just stamp off the first inking.
When DH saw this he suggested that her knees weren't level. He said that as though seeing a bird wearing a pink hat and a lace mini skirt, was somehow normal!
This is going to a friend who is turning 70. In a really faint (aka dried out) micron pen, I wrote the number 70, seventy times on the card. The sentiment by Stampendous, was embossed so it would stand out a bit more - thank goodness for MISTI.
Thanks very much for looking, I hope you get a chance to join in.

But of course a bird in a pink hat and a lace mini skirt is normal! Crazy birds have to have crazy legs, don't they? This is an awesome card with the tiny "70s" all over. Your friend will love it to pieces!

this is so much fun Chickie. I love all the texture and depth this has so much. and that was too funny what he noticed. Me, I noticed the feather in her cap is such a pretty shade of pink first.
The feathered hat caught my attention, the sentiment made me laugh and the background made me think I need to feature my favorite background technique pronto! Practically Perfect in Every Way!

Oh Susie....This is just Wonderful!!!!! You know I'm enamored with your birds. You have frilled this one up Beautifully! A lady this stunning should not remain nameless when talked about. I heard from those in the know that her name is Harriet Dillwiddle. A truly Delightful middle-aged bird....given to taking long walks. She has been known to only walk all the way around the middle of three special mountains, going only to her right (hence the knee problem). I believe I've heard she DOES have plans to have her knees leveled. Tell Geoff not to worry. And I do believe you have already altered the poor man's "normal".
Do you know how many SCS members are now being psycho-analyzed because they couldn't resist trying to count all your little 70's you tucked in here and there to see if you really did do seventy and they wanted to have the opportunity of saying, "Aha.....Gottcha!"
I know, I know.....my DH is a helpful, understanding, and an accepting man too....not misled by quirks. I consider myself Extremely Blessed!
