This is for Stef's great color challenge with a color combination of granny apple green, melon mambo, so saffron, and pool party, with a spring image for dessert.
This card turned into a nightmare for me as I made numerous mistakes that took me in directions I never intended to go. I started by stamping the image with black ink onto white cardstock and coloring with copics that are similar to Stef's colors. After coloring the image, I began outlining the image with a copic color closely related to pool party. I messed up the outline, so I had to color the white cardstock with the same copic to try and hide the mistake.
I wasn't happy so I fussy cut the right side of the image. While doing so, I noticed I had accidentally splattered a "melon mambo" spot on the cardstock when I removed the cap from the copic maker. I was ready to trash the cardstock.
Then I decided that I would just add spots around the main rose with the pink copics I used. What a mess. I am pretending I intentionally used the pointillism technique around the rose. Do you buy that??? I could go on and on with the mistakes, but I won't!
The bottom line is that I decided I had spent too much time on making the card that I would upload it regardless. So, if you stop by to view, I so appreciate your effort!

Oh, yes, my friend, I have had many a day like the one you described and it can be beyond frustrating! Nevertheless you persevered and the result is this lovely card! I like the pointillism, intended or not, and how you added the embossed saffron panel. In the end you created something wonderful, so glad you decided to share it and not recycle!!

I chuckled when I read your description, Bev, because the same thing happens to me all the time. Sometimes those copics have a mind of their own! It turned out absolutely gorgeous, though, so all the trouble was worth it. That's how fabulous art is made.

Your roses turned out so beautiful and look so velvety soft, Bev, despite all your frustrating incidences! Very nice save! We've all had those days. I had just finished a card when I noticed my alcohol marker had bled between the dog's legs. I took out my color lifter marker and when I started to use it, a drop splatted on the dog. Well, you know what happened next, right! The dog started to disappear, and I was finished! He ended up being darker than I intended, but I was able to save him. Never open an alcohol marker on top of your artwork (that's what I walked away with).

Like many have said above we have all been there! I definitely wouldn't have known that your design wasn't planned from the beginning. I really like the way the embossed dots echo your 'fix it' dots! Your colouring on the rose is beautiful! I think the fussy cut right side let you add some great texture with the embossed yellow panel. Fabulous card!
