Fridayâs Free For All Challenge, F4A460 Holiday Card Show Off 12/14/18, was to show some of thewinter holiday cards you had been making. Christmas is fast approaching and Iâve been hard at play, creating some one of kind cards for special people in our lives.
This card was made for some dear neighbors who recently moved to a nearby town. We will be getting together with them soon and I created this card to coordinate with their gift basket. The theme of the their basket is all things cozy - a soft fleecy throw, homemade Carmel puffed corn in a decanter and a homespun fabric snowman. This stamp set called Stay Cozy by Fun Stampers Journey seemed like the perfect starting point for the card.
I wanted the effect of looking into a snowy scene, so I diecut an opening in a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock that had been impressed with an inked Woodgrain texture plate. Next I stamped the winter cabin scene on the card front, heat embossed it with clear embossing powder and sponged color on the images with tiny foam tipped applicators.
To give the scene a sparkly, winter look, I added a bunch of detailing with Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard. This was such a fun product to use because it has a fine applicator tip that allows me to make fine lines and tiny dots. In real life, this product sparkles and glistens like real snow and doesnât have that clunky, scratchy look that I always got with Stickles.
I finished off the card with simple tag with some die cut pine sprigs tucked in back.
This was a fun wintery card to make and I hope our neighbors feel all the warm and cozy thoughts that went into its creation.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my winter cabin scene Stay cozy and warm!
